Penelope Bushman grew up surrounded by the beautiful sand dunes of northern Indiana.  She started painting watercolors of the area at the age of 14.  Penelope completed her training in fine art at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and then moved to the southwest.  The move introduced her to an entirely different palette.  “The ever changing desert and the gorgeous sunsets are a continuous source of inspiration.”

Penelope’s recent work depicts the shaman figure found in petroglyphs.  Her works are contemporary images of the ancient, evoking mystery and intrigue.  She explores her concept through watercolors, oil on canvas, and paper mache sculpture.
